Step aboard Valerie, our beautifully restored Huon pine vessel, for a very special culinary experience celebrating one of Australia’s great native oysters.
Grown in small quantities in the deep waters of Port Phillip, the native Angasi is a rare and revered oyster with a character all its own. Its flavour, texture and appearance are shaped by the waters in which it grows — a distinctive expression of the bay’s unique merroir.
This two hour cruise serves up a four-course Angasi oyster tasting, exploring this remarkable oyster freshly shucked, dressed and cooked.
Along the way, visit the Portarlington mussel farms that inspired our family’s journey into growing oysters, and taste Angasi oysters and Portarlington mussels straight from the water — right where they are grown.
Hear the stories behind the seafood, from shellfish farming and sustainability to the Angasi oyster’s deep history in Port Phillip Bay, including its long connection with the region’s Traditional Owners.
Your experience begins with Ocean Aged Vintage Cuvée, cellared beneath the waters of Port Phillip Bay, followed by carefully matched Bellarine wines throughout the tasting.

Weather
Our Native Angasi Oyster Tour is designed to cruise onto Port Phillip Bay and visit the Portarlington mussel farms.
If conditions are unsuitable for travelling to the farms, the tour will instead be conducted within Portarlington Harbour at a reduced price of $230 per person.
You’ll still enjoy the full four-course Angasi oyster tasting, live shucking, cooking demonstration, Ocean Aged Vintage Cuvée, matched wines and other food and beverage inclusions. The vessel will simply remain within the protected harbour rather than cruising onto the bay.
The $50 difference will be refunded after the tour.
Rain alone does not necessarily mean the tour will change. The decision will be based on overall conditions on the bay.
